I've had bad customer service from Motorola, LG, Apple, HTC phones and Apple, Acer, Lenovo, Asus laptops and Skullcandy, Apple, Jlab, Sony earbuds. Samsung has always been good about my phone support. S SERIES never had issues that wasn't fixed within 2 days by replacement shipped. I also love my Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus still. It's very good specs even compared to new flagships from multi companies

Sadly most of the times these support people have to read through a script....Even if in many cases they know the exact solution they can't just tell you...they have to follow a script strictly..and all the calls are recorded so there isn't much that they can do...many companies follows these rules some don't which is clearly shown in this experiment

@Abhishek Ahirvar if you have ever been on customer service, that is not too basic of a problem or unusual call at all. people do that all the time. "my printer doesn't work" "is it plugged in?" "oops, no." to tell everyone to delete everything is extremely bizarre.

I had brilliant experience with apple years ago when they even phoned me back about a problem and I had this Canadian sounding guy who spent about 20 minutes helping me with a tech/security issue. But I’ve had negative experiences with apples automated service regarding faulty hardware where for first and last time ever I actually found my self shouting down phone ‘I want to talk to a person now’ I think shear volume of my annoyance triggered algorithm to simply connect me to a pleasant sounding Irish guy who solved problem swiftly.

Honestly this is exactly what I was expecting. I bought my second Xiaomi phone in China (the Mi 9) and I needed the ROM to be flashed to global version. I don't speak Chinese, they don't speak English but they went to leaps and bounds to first understand what I need and later do what I wanted, and all of that, free of charge because the lady translated "Xiaomi phone no need to pay for fix in Xiaomi service center". Bought the nice people a chocolate each, that was legendary

This seems like something you should do on a monthly or bi-monthly basis to collect an empirical trend of the quality of their customer service offerings. It could have been just one poorly trained employee that you connected with if you just do it once. I like the whole idea and concept of this though!

Samsung has terrible service, recently I bought a cyclone Samsung robot vacuum and after about three months of use the brush inside was destroyed from normal usage, keep in mind that this robot was not cheap it costed about three $500. Anyways I did the normal thing and went online and had an absolute terrible time finding a cyclone brush. Once I did find one I ordered it just to find out three weeks later when it arrived it was the incorrect size and was meant for the extremely expensive version of my robot. Then after that I was extremely upset so I called Samsung customer support and asked where to find the correct brush and I told them my exact robot model number which was not included anywhere on the cyclone brush I found. They then proceeded to tell me that they did not make the brushes anymore for the $500 robot vacuum that you can still buy but cannot get the brush. To me this is absolutely ridiculous because why would you spend $500 on a robot just to find out after two months the robot is completely useless because the brush cannot be replaced. And the customer representative was very inexperienced in my opinion. Then after all of this they had the nerve to tell me they had a deal on a more expensive version of the same exact robot I had and that I could buy it but why would I go and spend money on a robot again with the same exact issue just to find out I can’t have it fixed again. After this experience I will never buy any products from Samsung again absolutely terrible customer support.

Any time I’ve had to contact apple support over the phone, which was only ever 5~ years ago maybe 3ish times, i had nothing but honestly excellent, like above and beyond kind of customer service. The kind of people on the phone were the ones you could laugh along with while trying to fix whatever the problem was. Would’ve given them a 10 out of 5 stars

That was my experience with Samsung. Long waits, hangups, took days of calls to advice data transfer on a new phone. The one who finally helped was polite and helpful. And overworked. Maybe the only one there who wanted to help.

They all contract out to the same call centres. It's mostly dependent on the competency of who you get put through to. None of them really have better or worse customer support as it's all the same customer support. btw, the trick to (hopefully) get put through to someone when dealing with an automated system is simply to speak the word "agent".

i’ve had quite pleasant experiences with apple anyways. Their text service is phenomenal, and they scheduled a call for me the next day (my choice) to fix another issue. Had everything resolved quickly and easily. Plus they were very nice

Nothing wrong with BB service at all. It's a good idea to filter daft/prank calls. That's how you make a service efficient or else their associates would be spending their time on the wrong calls. IMEI numbers are available also on the boxes and purchase receipts. It's only fair to ask for it as it also helps them in pulling your device details.

It's a great video and were asking basic question with a bit of twist but how a support service works it route you to some new or if lucky get to someone who's skillfully able resolve your issue. It's a random thing depending on the hiring and training on the part of the company. But I think you know this already so 👍

I used to work at the outsourced apple customer service centre and this vid put me back to the times I had to ask Apple ID every single time whenever the calls come in. It was painful. It was all about their Apple ID , not the problem itself.

@Sankalp Kalbag Well, you see that's not the worst thing in the video, the worst is, Arun was telling them that he charges the phone at night so he knows how to charge but the phone always dies at around 8 pm so it made the deal bigger as the person knows how to charge but still, he is experiencing screen blackout which means there is probably some hardware issue.

Worked for Apple myself, but never owned any of their products. I must say that when I bought an iPad for someone else and there was a delay in delivery earlier this year, they were extremely helpful over the phone. I called them in Denmark and they all spoke English (normal for Denmark), they were super friendly, emailed me all the further updates on a regular basis, and even contacted me later to tell me that my delivery was on its way. Having said that, there is no way I am ever going to buy anything from Apple for myself.

They request too much of the agents in terms of call duration, time to take notes, time to leave a customer in hold etc. they mostly sub-contract their CS from countries in which the salary is much lower so they can pay less compared to a CS in the USA. The training given is very good and actually quite helpful.

@Felix Chen I used to worked for Apple and thought the same. It seemed sketchy. Thought maybe just a new tech. But.... Apple (at least 3 years ago) is big on the support coming from the country the device was purchased in. No language barrier issues compounding already having to deal with an annoying tech issue. Which... when you pay as much for their stuff, good free support should be *expected*. Could just be the way the video was edited, because if the customer won't verify for that note-taking on the account process you mention, the rep can just say no service if it's not provided.

I have had very good experience with Apple.. samsung damaged my S20 I sent for fixing that was within warranty. And they are ignoring me and raised several tickets.. each one everyone I call to check the previous one.. I should stick to iPhone.. very bad experience from Samsung..having the phone fail within 4 months of purchasing and not addressing is very bad..

I would never have expected Huawei to end up on top! I think a lot of companies put a low priority on post-sales service because it isn’t marketing for new products. What it does, however, is bring customers back. There are a few brands I am unlikely to buy again because of their dismal post-sales service.

Apple’s costumer service is pretty good. My laptop broke, it was a system error and not my fault, so they fixed it, took under a week to do it, shipped it to my house, and didn’t charge me

A neighbor and me did a prank all on apple, the call got picked up almost immediately and the person there was so kind. We were using text to speech saying that we were mute and the person was totally understanding and so helpful that we hung up because of how guilty we felt.

You should call at 3 minutes before 17:00hrs or 17:30hrs local time. Next time at the end of the call say , you actually don't own their phone yet and you were just having a hard time deciding which brand to spend a £1000 on , so you just wanted to gauge how good their customer services was. They failed this time!

I work in customer service and suggesting simple stuff like there is no battery left actually offends some customers. Also some would even deny it and say something like "NO, there is battery - i looked just 1 minute ago and it was 8%". Battery can go from 8% to 0 in one minute if its an old battery and its cold outside for example

I reckon this is a biased test. Sometimes you get smart fellas on the call, the other times not so much. And tbh the whole premise is better suited for a prank call. A better test will be to present a more common problem - broken phone, not satisfied, I just purchased new phone but it has scratches, etc. I have to concur Samsung customer service sucks tho.

The reason why the calls take around ten minutes is because they have certain guidelines to go through otherwise the company gets on their back riding them to the sunset. Also the noise might just be construction as people are working from home.

@redmanticore Well *typically* when its out of your scope you transfer them to the correct department. If its their issue you just sugarcoat it and basically say no its their responsibility lol If there is no correct department and no correct avenues for them to take thats not only just poor customer service management but leaning that onto the agents to be berated. But I was just explaining why even if they could help they absolutely won't as it puts a liability on the company and their jobs. Having worked in customer service, assisting a customer in an issue thats unrelated to your department can get you dinged in performance reviews. I work in the healthcare customer service industry as a help desk exclusively for the website and while thats a more info sensitive industry, even if I know 100% the answer I can't answer questions im not trained for/is out of scope of my job. I believe its a liability thing.

I've worked in the tech business for the past 45 years. Having to call EVERY SINGLE TECH CUSTOMER SUPPORT at one point or another. The absolute WORST customer support I've ever encountered was from Hitachi.

I work in BPO and our job is to handle ckncerns like this over the phone. As per watching the video I conclude base on my personal experience too that it is not technically the company itself. It's about how the representative should identify the issue or concern to get into the bottom of it and provide exact or appropriate resolution. Just proper positioning of probing questions.

You should do this with phone carriers too. At least a few carriers that use other carriers networks such as mint mobile or other networks that are supposed to be more bang for your buck alongside the major carriers

apple has been great for customer support in the 17 years I've been calling. Samsung? I'll NEVER buy one of their products again. I had a horrible 3 month experience with a defective fridge that didn't get solved until my male partner weighed in on several of the calls.

In my experience apple customer service has good quality. but given the company reputation and huge volume of customers they have to go through the process. it may take some time to solve the problem and I have a feeling they are doing it for a purpose.

@Bother Evil oddly the pixel has been one of my best devices for support. You can just chat them on an app in phone and never seems to have any waits. Now I guess if phone literally couldn't turn on I'm not sure how the phone support is.

I get where they are coming from. It's only normal that after using phones for a number of years now anyone will know that if it's on low battery it needs to be charged. Screen going black sounds like a completely different problem if you're not on site. So I don't think your test is inaccurate

Way too lenient on Apple when they essentially did the same as Blackberry. Also, youre really handicapping them, i believe theyre having a hard time realizing one could be so stupid not to realize a phone needs recharging especially with all the low battery warnings built in. God id hate to work in CS.

I don't think Samsung intentionally ended the call on you... your phone read that the call failed so a technical issue must have happened when they tried to transfer you. Still not a great outlook on them though.
