I am a 50-year-old Asian male. When I was young, Asian men were always portrayed in the mainstream media in the United States as a distorted image of desexualized, unattractive and unenjoyable. But looking at this wonderful young man in 2023, it seems that discrimination against Asian men and even Asians in the West has changed a lot. I'm glad that my children will live in a better world. Thank you BTS, Thank you JungKook.

For me, it all started in 2020 with the lockdowns. I started watching Kdramas & moved on to Cdramas. The 2nd Asian drama I watched was "Crash Landing On You." Son Ye-jin mentioned BTS & Jungkook in the 9th or 10th episode, so I looked them up online. Fell in love with them immediately, their music, but especially their story. They overcame adversity with grace, positivity, and unity. Then they came out with "Dynamite" later that summer, and I was totally gone on them. Asians are truly beautiful people. I love their culture.. always have since Karate Kid. They're very gracious, respectful people. And you can blame it all on Son Ye-jin & Hyun Bin.. lol. Actually, my dad had friends that were Chinese. (My dad & his friend have passed on now.) Maybe it started when I was young. Come to think of it, had a Korean friend in college, too. Wore one of her hanboks to a special event so she wouldn't feel out of place wearing her other one. Was quite fun.
