Watching and listening to this, then I remember Suisei's story on how she started from IndieVtuber and struggle to join Hololive and now she's here on top. It makes me cry.
I haven't read the translated lyrics of this song juat yet, but!!! But!!! I know for a fact that Suisei nailed this one!!! I don't quite yet get the whole meaning of the song, but again... WHAT THE HELL!!! Sorry, I was listening to this song and Suisei just... Damn, Beautiful, just beautiful.
So nice to see Suisei's art being taken seriously. What she does is not invalidated because she puts on a persona. In reality it is no different than what Daft Punk has done in the past.
There are already other vtubers, like kaf, who is committed only to this kind of content. She's solely a music artist but as a vtuber. Not a vtuber but ado and claris also counts, who stayed mysterious for all these years.
@superitgel She is from a company called Hololive and she, along with other members of Hololive, does streams regularly on JPvid. I regret to inform you that contrary to your first impression, it is a real person behind her face who wrote and sang the entire lyrics herself lol, and will never be available for purchase because all rights to her voice and personality belong to Hoshimachi Suisei herself. In fact, she had already established her voice and character on her own before joining Hololive a few years ago. And unless you find a fanmade knock-off version for free, the rights to her model will always belong to her and Hololive.
@superitgel She won't, Suisei is Suisei, there's a REAL PERSON behind her, she's not some instrument that producers can make music with, also Cover Corp the parent company to Hololive is different from Crypton
The more reactions to this video I see the more I'm convinced they made the right choice. There were a lot of songs they could have chosen and Suisei could have chosen to make an intro and do warm ups, but she skipped all of it. Stellar Stellar starts with an insane acapella note that is extremely tough to nail, it takes massive balls to start a song like that where the chance of failure is so high. To do that not only live, but on your biggest stage with no chance at a redo. It immediately grabs your attention and silences any haters or doubters. After watching you may not like the song, you may still think vtubers are silly, but NO ONE can say that that girl can't sing. She proved her point. We're vtubers, but we're musicians and artists the same as any of you and we can sing our heart out too.
@Blue Box Must be because it has to literally be a First Take, so they can't really go back on it if they later realized the music was rather quiet and try to make it louder. In case you're looking for something of hers where the music stands out better, one recommendation would be her live performance of Overture (together with Taku Inoue as 'Midnight Grand Orchestra')
people always criticize japan for forced to be 'normal',but It is Japan that always creates such brand new things or strange thing. And it's the Westerners and foreigners who always laugh that it's weird. If you do something that deviates from the ordinary even a little, people call 'weird' or 'cringe' If you like non-Western cultures people will tease and bully you by saying 'weeb' or 'koreaboo' because liking western culture is 'normal' for them like disney or american pop or hollywood i think westerner or foreigner are also obsessed 'normal'
@TheHiroo17 There is literally one rule on the channel, and you don't understand it...? They only give one chance, one take. That's the point, no second chances. Period.
people judge her for having a virtual appearance, but some other artists don’t show their faces on tft as well. it’s basically the same concept: you might not be able to see their faces, but their voices are still raw and true. tft wont break their own rules just for a vtuber and let her use a fake voice or fake identity. for me, suisei might not be the best singer on tft, but she’s definitely good enough to be on tft and to be seen by the world.
For those who wondering, JPvid doesn't show up the dislikes but currently 12k here so yeah the haters are present unfortunately... Let's ignore and focus on the 450k like instead :D
@LORDLUK 0head take tbh. Usually when you listen to music you don't see the artist anyway. Also just dropping Buckethead's name here. Dude has been proving that you need neither face nor lyrics to convey emotion through music for aeons.
Now, correct me if I am wrong, but I believe this makes Sui-chan the very first VTuber to ever be featured on "THE FIRST TAKE." Regardless, I am very happy that she got featured here because this will introduce some people who are familiar with "THE FIRST TAKE," but not Hololive or VTubers in general, to one of the greatest VTubers to ever grace the Internet. Congratulations on your appearance on FIRST TAKE, Suisei!👏👏
@salt aaaaaand still not invited to perform in TFT probably wont ever too but who knows after Suichan made it happen for vtubers maybe someone can also perform
