Explanation of the characters that appear in this video. 0:07 あ a 2:12 い i 2:30 し shi 4:44 て te “あいして” means “Love me”. These four characters fit exactly into the four blanks in 0:37 scene. This song is the story of a man who wanted to be loved.
I love how this MV takes the story of an artist with perfectionism, and turns it into a tale of someone who sees their own body as the imperfect artwork that needs fixing. I wonder if they're wanting to be loved by others, or by themself? I hope they can find happiness and escape this loop of self harm.
Like your interpretation, though personally I see it a bit differently. Its more like the artist sees their work as the reflection of themselves. And so they feel that if their creation's aren't perfect then that also means that they aren't perfect either and undeserving of love and appreciation. I still have a hard time figuring out the last scene, but I do feel like it's highly reflective of artists coming back to look at their beginning works and find them absolutely atrocious. Still can't put my finger on throwing up scene.
i think there are lots of interesting ways to interpret this mv. for me it was a case of why is this guy alone in this desolate wasteland, but he seems to be able to find the parts he needs to make these dolls, or selves, in the wreckage? the whole "aishite" symbolism in the characters he finds and the final arrangement of the dolls feeds into it too, so maybe it can be understood like this: maybe this guy used to be able to love, or had someone that loved him, or simply the feeling of love itself, which is now lost in the wreckage - but he tries to recapture that past, to rebuild that perfect self that could love or could be loved, but he can never get it right. no matter what memories he cobbles together into this vision, he can't recreate it perfectly, so he keeps going and keeps failing. in the end, what happens? all of his dolls, although failures individually, line up into the final "te" character of "aishite" - he's "vomiting" sure, but why the "a" character? the same character that he put into the chests or "hearts" of all these dolls? the same character that he initially went looking for in the wreckage? could it be that each time he created something, that same life was made inside himself? staring at the pile of characters on the ground, he seems surprised moreso than frustrated - could it be that that part he was looking for to begin with was something he'd always had inside him? or maybe it's more sinister, and he's just a doll himself, like all those he made, with the same incomplete sentence inside him? i definitely think there's more to it than simply frustration, because his frustration is certainly expressed in other ways throughout this mv and the final scene seems to suggest something much more fundamental than frustration - almost some kind of catharsis. i do love this song and this mv a lot though
maybe even something like this: the dolls were failures individually, but all together they gave him the final character that he needed - maybe, even though each work looks awful to him, he comes to realize that simply the act of creating is important; simply the act of speaking out, no matter how poorly, is enough to attain some kind of love
i think its amazing how wide suis' voice range can go. at one point she sings in a sad tune and the next her voice just turns into this really beautiful melody
only yorushika can make me feel nostalgic from listening to a new song for the first time somehow, it's like i've been missing this song even though it's a new release
4:31 The piano here, I thought at first it was an editing mistake or something, but after I listened to it a few times I found that the imperfect loop seems to be deliberate, OMG, I really love n-buna.
Something about Yorushika songs (and MV, story, etc, you got it) that left me nothing but a puddle of melted conflicting emotions. Like it's beautiful in totally heartbreaking way, that screaming I'm here and hurt but also a little bit of numbing acceptance and regretful good byes, sometimes full of fond memories other times just scathing anger, with a sprinkle of sarcastic optimism and bitter platitudes?? If I'm not bawling myself to sleep, at least I got full body goosebumps. It's a lot and maybe kinda cringe lol but I'm glad I got the opportunity to enjoy these feelings caused by them
This song is like the clam during a storm. The MV really made me think of this song in a different way. The way Suis-san's voice is so versatile during this song brings this song together.
I've been listening to Yorushika's (ヨルシカ) music from Grade 8 and suis (Yorushika's vocalist) voice is like a lullaby to me. This new song is brilliant and a masterpiece that we could say. N-buna and suis collaboration is the best and they are literally syncing. Best wishes to you Yorushika and I can't wait to see you having concerts international.
Que hermosa canción!!!!! Tan melodiosa...¡Hasta me da escalofríos! 😍🥶 de tan hermosa q es!!! ❤ Me inspira tanto...Gracias por darnos otro éxito más Yorushika!!! ❤🥰

I don't know what this means yet, but I feel its depth. I feel like I am in the middle of the ocean looking at this song, waiting to see what is underneath. I want to see how other people interpret this new song and be able to more fully appreciate it !
