» I took a bit of creative liberties for some of the lyrics here; namely, the end of the chorus. The original lyrics didn’t mention anything about a script or a play; I added those references in because the lyrics weren’t clear on what they were “turning over” or what “won’t be that bad”. So, since this song is centered around movies and acting, it wouldn’t be too off to reference some theater gimmicks, would it? I hope the message didn’t diverge from the original meaning too much and instead made the message clearer.
» For Rei’s part at the end of the chorus, 極上のリアル (Gokujou no riaru)…actually, I might have messed up that line a bit. Translated, the line would read “superb” or “best” (gokujou) and “real” (riaru). リアル (riaru) is the katakana or Japanese pronunciation of, well, “real”, and I had neglected to include that in my translation (“In full honesty, it will be our best”). For that, I want to apologize; I’d change it if I could, but for some reason I didn’t realize my mistake until I already put this into video format. I’ll be more careful from now on; sorry, guys, sorry, Rei.
This is one of the only two songs so far that features 10 people in the same song from Hapiele, and phew has it been a doozy. I actually finished this song on time though, haha.
Okay story time: so, in the process of making this, finding the CG for these people was an absolute nightmare and a half. Makoto, Rei, and Hinata’s were easy, I just used the cards that Hapiele gave in celebration of the movie release. The others, though, was the nightmare part.
I was fine with the first ones I pulled for Kohaku, Aira, and Mayoi, but for some reason I couldn’t get myself to be satisfied with the others yet (Mao, Ritsu, Nagisa, Izumi). I pulled ones that made them seem like they were acting (cause, movie and all), but then I wanted for their clothing choice to be similar, and the CG I pulled then were in their summer clothing (Izumi, Mao, Nagisa) or in their practice outfit (Ritsu). I also, for some whatever reason, want the CG to be from a 4* card. Don’t ask, I haven’t figured out why either /j
After two-ish tries, I was finally satisfied with my choices for Ritsu, Nagisa, and Izumi. Not Mao, not yet. The guy doesn’t have a 4* card that features his winter clothing yet, and after a fit of me screaming in chat to my friends about how “HE ONLY WEARS SUMMERY CLOTHES, WHAT THE HELL-”, I decided to go screw it all to hell, and landed on the only CG that features his winter clothes: his FS2 unbloomed card, which is a 5*. So yeah.
Mao, you really love summer, I can see that now, but please wear your other outfits more, please-
Anyways, happy one year Road to Show!! I have watched this movie before, but back then I only understood like, a fourth of the plot and what was going on. I’ll look for an ENG translated version soon, because I want to know what is actually going on lol.
Also, I want to see Macky again, I mean you can’t just introduce a character that only appears for one movie, Hapiele, give him a cameo at least please-
